Shihan Kevin Sealy – 7th Degree

Kevin Sealy (Shihan) started training in the Martial Arts with his uncle at the age of 10. Since then he has accomplished many goals, including the opening of his own school in 1991. Kevin has been teaching since 1989 and he has had exposure to many different styles including Japanese Shorinji-Ryu (foundation style), Kempo, jiu jitsu, Shotokan and Goju-Ryu as well as Brazilian jiu jitsu. He has delivered his teachings to high schools, public schools, ladies groups and of course his student base. He is currently a Shichidan in Shorinji-Ryu. He has had the honour of being recognized by his peers with several awards including in 1990 – “Award of Excellence” and in 1996 – “Outstanding Instructor Ontario International Martial Arts Association”. Kevin is a dignified member in the Guelph community and has produced over 300 qualified Black Belts throughout his teaching career while always giving back to the community when possible. In 2007, Shihan Kevin was named one of the coaches to Team Canada. He helped train a number of competitors, including 7 of his own students, where they competed in the I.M.F.A World Championships in New Jersey, U.S.A. Kevin currently serves on the Equity Committee for the Wellington Catholic District School Board.
